Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you.
Thank you all for your continued support and custom.
2017 has been a great year at Drumattic.
Hundreds of drums, cymbals and hardware have been restored, repaired, rewrapped, customised and so forth. Thank you to all my customers here who give me the opportunity to work on their fantastic kits! From a 1960s Ringo replica Premier kit restoration , to a custom made busking kit, to a custom wrapped Mapex black panther for a Rush tribute band – I have enjoyed working on every single one!
The shop is looking great, always with plenty of vintage drum kits, snares, cymbals, hardware and accessories.
As well as the vintage stuff in the shop, we are now stocking/supplying Puresound wires, Promark sticks, Slapklatz, Remo heads and accessories, Evans heads and accessories, Code heads and accessories, British drum co, and Bristol drum co snare drums, Impression cymbals, Vintage drums legendary sounds magazine, and much more!
Our hire kits have seen some action this year, being used for various projects by different people doing studio/home recording and video work. Everyone has been more than happy with the kits/advice provided, and its great to see these vintage kits are still desired for recording and video purposes.
Some in house recording has also taken place, mainly with local Bath based band ‘Bad Sounds’ who have recorded various drum breaks at Drumattic. These guys are really serious when it comes to drum breaks/sampling, and they can be very specific sound wise. Its been a pleasure working with them to try and help provide authentic, vintage sounding drum breaks.
In November this year, we exhibited for the first time at the ‘London Drum Show’. From feedback, everyone enjoyed the vintage showcase I provided, and loved the opportunity to play these vintage kits. Thank you to everyone who came to see me and/or bought items from my stand. This show proved to be a lot of hard work, but Myself, and everyone else seemed to enjoy it.
Robert Brian and myself have also run more ‘Vintage Drum Days’, again, thank you to everyone who has come to these. These will continue to run throughout 2018, with the next one pencilled in for Febuary, keep an eye out for the specific dates and info.
All of this is set to continue throughout 2018! The shop is full, and the workshop is already packed with vintage kits and snares that need to be restored, either for customers or to be for sale in the shop. In 2018 I am hoping to add an outside room at Drumattic to be used for teaching/practice. This will naturally take a lot of time, effort and planning, but will hopefully add to the growing list of services I try to provide at Drumattic.
As most of you will know, Drumattic is only run by one person. It is not, and has never been easy to keep on top of everything, it takes a lot of time, effort, and commitment. I would like to thank my family and friends for their personal support, George Lane for website help, and every customer who has bought or rented something from me over the past year. All those people who have passed my name on for work, put a leaflet up in their local studio, posted a social media post about something they have bought/had restored etc…..it is all truly appreciated, and it makes what i do possible, and worth it.
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and roll on 2018!
